The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University is a comprehensive teaching hospital integrating medical services with teaching,research, prevention and healthcare,rehabilitation treatment and first-aid after its 69 years of development.It was founded in 1951 and enjoyed a good reputation in Shaanxi Province and originated from Sanatorium of the Logistics and Health Department of the First Field Army, Northwest Area Command, PLA.The hospital consistently adheres to the motto“ virtue, elite, erudite and innovation”, and has developed into a comprehensive Grade III A-leve lteaching hospital which attaches equal importance to medicine , teaching and research, as well as medicine and humanities.

The hospital ranks the top 20 in Northwest China according to the 2016 Regional Hospital Comprehensive Ranking List ( Fudan Version) and ranks the top 15 in terms of scientific research and academics. It has developed into an emerging brand hospital in recent years. In addition to its own business, the hospital administers Fengdong Xincheng Textile Hospital, facilitating the establishement of FengDong Xincheng medical coalitions and Lianhu district public hospital,all of which cover one Grade III hospital, nine Grade II hospitals, ten Grade I hospitals, one Nursing home and three cooperative units.

The hospital has 1200 beds,consists of 62 departments, 7 teaching departments and one central laboratory, enjoys many qualified experts, among whom about 200 are professors and over 100 are core teachers.Moreover, more than 400 have doctor’s and master’s degrees.The General Medical Schoolof the hospital is currently the biggest and most complete one nationwide, covering the standardized training of general practioner“3+2”,“5+3” and general medical undergraduate and graduate education with more than 1000 of all levels.
